Between March 29th and 31st, the penultimate event of the IN NEET project took place in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, this time hosted by the Bulgarian non-profit organization Euni Partners.
The days of events were divided into panels that provided us with conversation starters and involved various parts of the local civil society. In particular, we had the opportunity to hear from Miglena Mihailova, a lawyer specializing in defending the rights of the Romani population, who described the employment data of this population segment, along with the numerous discriminations they face in every aspect of working life.
Furthermore, we met with a group of students from the American University in Bulgaria, with whom we discussed the problems that young people face in entering the workforce.
Finally, having the opportunity to visit some local wineries, we heard the stories of young entrepreneurs from the area, as well as met the mayor of the nearby town of Sandansky, a dynamic and lively town where young people are able to actively integrate into civil society by starting successful businesses, particularly in the tourism sector.
The IN NEET project will have its final session next June in Santa Pola, Spain.
