PROJECT "WASTE COLLECTION AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF RECYCLING IN THE SIDI BOUZID AREA IN TUNISIA"

Brief description of the project


"The collection of waste and the development of recycling in the Sidi Bouzid area in Tunisia" arose from the collaboration of the DICA Onlus Association (project leader) with its local partner of reference for international cooperation activities in Tunisia. Association Méditerranéenne Pour le Développement en Tunisie (AMDT) and the Municipality of Sidi Bouzid, The proposal is part of the path activated with the simple projects year 2015 and 2017 co-financed by the Tuscany Region and strengthens the impact on the territory with the involvement official in the partnership of the Municipality of Sidi Bouzid. The Municipality of Sidi Bouzid has expressed its desire to activate collaboration and exchange paths on environmental issues related to "waste" and "recycling. Particularly in order to increase their management skills and at the same time increase the sensitivity of the population on these issues.


 


General objective


- Support for the development and strengthening of the collection and recycling of waste in the project area - City of Sidi Bouzid - Governorate of Sidi Bouzid - Tunisia


 


Specific goals


- Organizational updating of the Municipality of Sidi Bouzid in the sectors of waste collection and sensitization of the local population on environmental issues related to "waste" and "recycling".


 


Activities


The project aims to achieve its objectives through the implementation of 3 main activities:


- A1R1. Carrying out of 10 public awareness-raising meetings and 2 meetings at schools in Sidi Bouzid on the subject of environmental information: “waste” and “recycling”.


- A2R2. Supply to the Municipality of Sidi Bouzid of waste collection equipment.


 


Expected results


- R1. 10 public awareness-raising meetings and 2 meetings at schools in Sidi Bouzid on the subject of environmental information: “waste” and “recycling” were held.


- R2. Provide waste collection equipment to the Municipality of Sidi Bouzid.


 


Direct beneficiaries


- 150 subjects (adults, children and adolescents) to whom the awareness meetings are aimed


- The staff of the Municipality of Sidi Bouzid who will benefit from the provision of equipment for waste collection and management (20 people)


 


Indirect beneficiaries


- The families of the sensitized subjects;


- The local community of Sidi Bouzid.
