"Tunisia: the new frontier of democracy" is just the latest of the many projects carried out by the Tunisian  SDEC as part of the increase in participation in political and social life of Tunisia by vulnerable groups such as women, boys, minorities; the project is aimed in particular to the population of the governorate of Sidi Bouzid, one of the poorest areas of the Maghreb country but which was also the birthplace of the Arab Spring of 2011.

In addition to enhancing the participation and awareness of the true nature of the citizen, the project aims to increase the number of voters in the elections, claiming the right to vote as one of the most important and inalienable rights of a person belonging to a democratic state.

These are the activities of the project:

1. Creation of a steering committee that will direct and follow all the activities and the project interventions

2. Training courses on democracy and on the methods to increase citizen participation

3. Training courses on Islam and its democratic and practical applications

4. Drafting of a textbook with all the interventions made during the two courses

5. Creation of a newsletter that will follow all the most important moments of the project and that will disseminate its results

6. Creation of a database with all the participants in the activities and their interventions, in order to hold them in contact even after the project activities

The project activities have been developed with the help of two partners of the Applicant:  AMDT(Mediterranean Association for the Development in Tunisia) and DICA non-profit Association.
